The St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation and Auxiliary will host the 31st annual St. Mary’s Golf Classic at Country Club of Blue Springs on June 20.

One of the premiere golf tournaments in Eastern Jackson County, the tournament enjoys a long tradition of support from businesses and individuals committed to quality health care in their community, according to a press release issued by the hospital.

Haldex is this year’s presenting sponsor.

“Tournament organizers have planned a tournament that they hope will give golfers what they want,” said Suzanne Dell-St. Clair, foundation manager at St. Mary’s. “Co-chairs Cordell Kirk and Mary Pat Burson and the planning committee want golfers to know they’ll be getting great value in their golfing experience, including a great course to play, great food and beverages, gifts and goody bags, challenging hole contests and great prizes, not to mention the satisfaction of knowing that all proceeds go back into their community hospital.”

The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. in a scramble format for a wide array of prizes. Breakfast starts at 6:30 a.m., with lunch by Carrabba’s and awards at approximately 2 p.m. Joe Lauria, Fox 4 News meteorologist is the master of ceremonies.

A silent auction rounds out the day.
