With an expected high Sunday of 104, the National Weather Service has posted an excessive heat advisory.

After a highs in the mid-90s today and Saturday, temperatures Sunday are expected to spike, and the heat index could reach 107. The advisory is for 1 p.m. through 7 p.m. Sunday. Those conditions mean an increased risk of heat-related illnesses, and officials suggest drinking plenty of water, and skipping beverages with sugar, caffeine or alcohol. Staying out of the sun, and stay inside in an air-conditioned space when possible. It’s also important to check on friends and neighbors to make sure they’re OK. Make sure outdoor pets have plenty of shade and fresh water.

The Weather Service forecast is for highs of 98 both Monday and Tuesday, then 101 Wednesday and Thursday. There might be some clouds now and then, but no rain is in the forecast.
