The FBI has released two photos of the suspect involved in a bank robbery Monday morning in Independence.
Tom Gentry, public information officer for the Independence Police Department, said the Bank of America branch, 17410 E. U.S. 24, was robbed at about 9:07 a.m. The suspect is described as an older white male in his early 60s, medium build, wearing a khaki baseball hat, sunglasses, a blue long sleeve shirt, blue jeans white shows, with a gray scarf covering the bottom half of his face. He also had gray hair.
“An undisclosed amount of money was taken,” Gentry said about the robbery. “He showed a gun, but there were on injuries reported.”
According to a news release from the FBI, the suspect place the money in a black bag and fled the bank in a northbound direction. There was no vehicle information obtained.
