Dana E. McDole, of Leawood, Kan., loving husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away on October 28th at St. Luke’s South Hospital surrounded by his family.

Dana E. McDole, of Leawood, Kan., loving husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away on October 28th at St. Luke’s South Hospital surrounded by his family. 

Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 2, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 14251 Nall Ave, Leawood, Kan. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Church on Sunday, November 1st from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary at 4 p.m.

Dana was born on June 24, 1948, in Kansas City, Mo., to Marvin and Marguerite McDole and lived his life in the Kansas City area. He graduated from Truman High School in 1966 and attended UMKC. He enlisted in the United States Navy on October 24, 1967, and served four honorable years. He began working for the Federal Aviation Administration in 1973 at Kansas City ARTCC as an air traffic controller, retiring on January 2, 2001. He then returned to work as a mission systems specialist with Northrop Grumman, contracting with the FAA at Kansas City ARTCC. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish. He married the love of his life, Sheila, on June 1, 1983, and they were happily married for 26 years. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sister, Renee Tidwell.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila, his sons, Adrian (wife -Kelli) McDole, of Seattle, Washington, and Nick (wife -Beth) McDole, of Kansas City, Mo., and his grandson, Maxton McDole.  He also leaves behind his faithful four-legged companion, Bailey, who will miss him deeply.

Dana, you are the love of my life and my best friend. I will miss you more than you will know. Until I see you again, Love, Sheila.

Dad, we will always remember you and thank you for everything you’ve done for us. You were the perfect dad and we will miss you for the rest of our lives. Love you always, Adrian & Nick
