James K. Ingram and Whitney Wright have been selected as Students of the Month by the Rotary Club of Independence.

Ingram is a senior at Fort Osage High School and has received a AAA Award; has been named to the honor roll throughout high school; is an Eagle Scout; was a member of the National Junior Honor Society and has been named student of the month.

In addition, he is involved with the theater program; is a member of the Touch of Class Chamber Choir and the Student Council; participates with the Youth Praise Team and is involved with the forensics program.

Ingram plans to attend MCC-Blue River and earning a bachelor’s degree in communications. His parents are Jim and Lucinda Ingram.


Wright is also a senior at Fort Osage High School and was named Outstanding Freshman, Outstanding Sophomore and Outstanding Junior for Student Council; earned honorable mention honors for all-area tennis; was named first team all-district and first team all conference and was named honorable mention all area for varsity soccer.

In addition, she is a Priemiere Soccer Viati; is a member of the Student Council and is currently president of the student body; is a member of the tennis team and has been involved with the soccer team.

In the future, she hopes to either be a broadcast journalism or an English teacher/soccer coach. Her parents are Kirk Allen Wright and Denise Alin Wright.
