The Truman boys tennis team dominated rival William Chrisman 9-0 at Santa Fe Trail Park on Monday.

Matt Perry, Mason Short, David Franklin, Zach Felz, Brett Fredenberg and Andy Muelleman posted the victories for Truman, which lost only nine games in singles and seven in doubles.

MID-MISSOURI INVITATIONAL: The Mid-Missouri Invitational at Columbia Rock Bridge resulted in two wins for Blue Springs South.

Two-time defending state champion Rock Bridge opened with a 9-0 victory over the Jaguars last weekend.

South rebounded to edge Springfield Central 5-4 and in the fifth-place match stopped Columbia Hickman 8-1.

BARSTOW 9, GRAIN VALLEY 0: Visiting Barstow was to much for the Eagles (1-7).

“We played a very good team,” Grain Valley coach Mary Elliott said.

BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 6, KEARNEY 3: Four singles victories paced the Jaguars to Monday’s decision.

“It was good victory,” South coach Sheri Rehmer said. “I played some people in different spots.”
Paul Province, Alec Barber, Brent Henderson, John Duffey, Alex Martin  and Jose Garchitorena posted the victories for the visitng Jaguars.

MIKE VANBECELAERE DOUBLES TOURNAMENT: Truman finished third out of eight teams in the tournament at Lee’s Summit North over the weekend.

Mason Short and Zach Felz were first in B doubles, Andy Muelleman and Brett Fredenberg third in Class C, Matt Perry and David Franklin fourth in Class A and Sam Heacock and Kris Chavez fifth in Class D.
