ICED event to focus
on legislative issues
The Independence Council for Economic Development’s annual Eggs & Issues: Legislative Edition breakfast is this week.
The event is from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Independence.
Several state representatives – Tom McDonald and Paul LeVota of Independence, Ray Salva of Sugar Creek and Gary Dusenberg and Bryan Pratt of Blue Springs – are expected to attend.
They are to take part in a panel discussion and address issues in the upcoming legislative session.
The event is open to the public.

Fike buys British
fire-alarm system firm
Fike has acquired Rafiki Protection Ltd., a British manufacturer of fire alarm systems. The acquisition also includes Santana Solutions Ltd., a building security systems integration company.
Both companies were previously owned by Red Dot Technologies Ltd.
Fike, based in Blue Springs, supplies products and services to address safety issues such as fire, explosion, and over-pressurization. Rafiki, located in South Wales UK, was established in 1994 and sells fire alarm technologies.
