A hose “uncoupling” ceremony took place Tuesday morning to recognize the first extensive remodeling of Fire Station 1 since its opening in February 1972. Firefighters were temporarily relocated to stations 3, 4 and 7 from January through April to allow for work on crew living quarters.

The Emergency Operations Center on the lower level was remodeled, as well as office space for the Fire Department’s fire prevention and training divisions.
