Eastern Jackson County is likely to get a dusting or so of snow today, but it could be a little rougher for anyone headed even a county or two to the south.

The National Weather Service has a winter weather advisory today for Cass and Johnson counties, which border Jackson County on the south and east, as well as Pettis, Bates and Henry counties, plus Linn and Miami counties in Kansas. That area includes Paola, Kan., and runs east to include Harrisonville, Warrensburg and Sedalia on the Missouri side. Forecasters expect up to three inches of snow. Wind is expected to blow the snow around, making for rough driving conditions south of U.S. 50. The Weather Service advises drivers to take caution.

Less snow is expected in the rest of the Kansas City area – maybe an inch, mostly south of Interstate 70. There’s another chance of snow on Monday.
