The city of Independence’s overlay work is in full swing, and a portion of Noland Road is up next.

Beginning Monday night, crews will remove 2 inches of aphalt on Noland between Interstate 70 and 35th Street. That asphalt will be replaced, traffic lines will be marked and vehicle detectors at traffic signals will be repaired.

The work is to take one week. Noland will remain open, though some lanes will be closed as work progresses.

The project is part of the citywide street overlay contract to improve 21 miles of streets. Contact Public Works Construction Manager Shar Dilmaghani at 816-325-7600 for more information.
