MATCHUP NOTES: The Mavericks play host to the Thunder for the third time at the Independence Events Center and fifth time overall when the teams collide on Black Friday. All four of Missouri’s wins this season have come against the Thunder, who are one spot below the Mavericks in the standings. Missouri has outscored Wichita 15-5 in the four games and Jeff Christian leads the team with seven points – one goal and six assists – in games against Wichita. Chad Hinz also has four goals in four games against the Thunder.
JUNIOR MAVS TO FOLLOW MAVS: The Independence Junior Mavs’ high school hockey game against the Kansas City Stars will follow Friday’s game against Wichita. Admission is free for the Mid America High School Hockey League “Feature Game of the Week.”

SATURDAY’S GAME: Missouri Mavericks vs. Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs

MATCHUP NOTES: The Mudbugs and Mavericks play the first of four overall meetings this season. Bossier-Shreveport is currently one spot ahead of the Mavericks in the standings with 14 points and a 7-7-0 record after losing 5-3 to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees Wednesday night. The Mudbugs are led by defenseman Simon Mangos and forward Joe Zappala, who each have 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists for Mangos and 5 goals, 5 assists for Zappala).
