Due to mechanical problems, the 50-meter outdoor pool at the Blue Springs Centennial Pool Plex, 2401 N.W. Ashton Drive, will not be open this Memorial Day Weekend. 

Due to mechanical problems, the 50-meter outdoor pool at the Blue Springs Centennial Pool Plex, 2401 N.W. Ashton Drive, will not be open this Memorial Day Weekend.  

However, the 25-yard indoor pool, outdoor wading pool and concession area will be open from 12:30-7 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, according to a release from the city.

Lounge chairs will be added to the concession and grass area for those wanting sun exposure.

The Centennial Pool Plex will be closed Tuesday, June 1, through Wednesday, June 2, while the Blue Springs RIV District Schools are in session.

The Centennial Pool Plex will reopen for the summer session on Thursday, June 3 pending mechanical problems being resolved.  

The summer operating hours for the Centennial Pool Plex are 12:30-7 p.m. daily.

Adventure Oasis

Adventure Oasis, 2100 Hub Dr., in Independence opens for the summer season Saturday.

Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. holidays.

Admission is $6 for youth/senior resident; $8 for adult resident and $20 for a family of four resident. Other admission prices are $7 for a youth/senior non-resident; $9 for an adult non-resident and $25 for a family of four non-resident.

Season passes are $75 for youth or senior; $105 for adult; $250 for a family season pass; $24 for a resident 5-Punch Pass youth or senior; $32 for a resident 5-Punch Pass adult; $88 for a resident 5-Punch Pass family; $28 for a non-resident 5-Punch Pass youth/senior; $36 for a non-resident 5-Punch pass adult and $100 for a non-resident 5-Punch Pass family.

Water Playgrounds (Independence)

The water playgrounds open May 30. The water play/spray features are appropriate for children of all ages.
