On March 22, 2012, John Loyd Glandon passed on to new life.

John was born on November 2, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Graceland College in 1976 and married Joanie Kenworthy, of Rosebud, Texas, in 1977. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 27 years. He was a life-long member and held the office of priest in the Community of Christ church. He sang with the Independence Messiah Choir for more than 25 years and was a member of the Mexican Epigraphic Society.

John is remembered with love by his wife, Joanie; his daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Aaron Rust; his daughters, Cassy Glandon and Kelda Glandon; his mother, Marie Ferguson; his sister, Donna Orbegoso; his brothers, Jay Glandon, Joseph Glandon, David Glandon and Robert Glandon; and many other extended family members and friends.

The memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 1, at 3 p.m. at the Stone Church, 1012 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a memorial fund in John’s name at United Consumers Credit Union, 816-325-6900.
