Registrations are still being accepted for the third annual hot dog eating contest on the Independence Square.

The event is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, just before “The Muppets” Moonlight Movie, on the Pharaoh Theatre parking lot at the corner of Maple Avenue and Liberty Street.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age, and they must sign the liability waiver and release for use of images for promotional purposes.

The winner will receive a $300 cash prize. Second and third place contestants will receive McClain Restaurant gift certificates.
