Anita Shafer, 90, passed away Monday, July, 23, 2012.

Anita was a homemaker. She was a creative cook, avid quilter, and took care of everyone she met. Many will remember her baked goods, and their special blanket they received from Miss. Anita. She served everyone she loved, as well as the church, faithfully and thoroughly. Her heart goes out to the children served by the Right to Life organization.

Anita is survived by her five beloved children, Glenda Cinotto (Charlie) of Kansas City, Mo., Karen Humes of Independence Mo., Edward Shafer of Kansas City, Mo., Nancee Reynolds (Royce) of Baker, Fla., and Doug Shafer (Shari) of Lenexa, Kan.; a sister, Carol McNally of Grandview, Mo.; two brothers, Kenneth Waitzmann of Kansas City, Mo., and Franklin Waitzmann (Barb) of Independence, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Judy Waitzmann of Olathe, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July, 27, at Saint Louis Catholic Church, 5930 Swope Drive, Kansas City, Mo. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July, 26, at Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Mo.
