As most people are aware, we have had a redistricting and the region represented by our state representative has been changed due to population growth. The district is now District 31, not 55, and our representative should continue to be Sheila Solon. She visualizes this new region as a challenge and an opportunity to serve others. Her commitment to public service has led her to seek re-election so she can continue to take the beliefs and values of all the people to Jefferson City. That is the reason we should always elect a person and not a party.
Sheila was recognized as “Freshman Legislator of the Year” for her work on senior issues and legislator of the year by the Missouri Association of Veterans Organizations. Due to her outstanding work ethic, Sheila was named vice chair of the Interim Committee On Government Bidding and Contracting. This committee seeks to promote competition among business for contracts and ensure every dollar is used properly and efficiently. Sheila has said that she is looking forward to working with her colleagues in serving all Missourians.
Sheila has the smartness and eagerness to research governmental responsibilities and try to direct it as required to serve the people. Now voters, we have witnessed the work of an outstanding representative, and it is up to us to help her get re-elected. As a teacher, veteran, senior citizen and a friend, I feel that Sheila has done her best to represent all of us and will continue to do so. I would like to encourage all voters of District 31 to support Sheila. If you have any questions, just contact her in Jefferson City and I am sure she will respond not as a party member, but as a concerned representative.
