One of Sporting Kansas City’s brightest stars will be on hand for the Blue Springs-Blue Springs South girls soccer match on May 10.

Kei Kamara will make an appearance and be available for autographs at the Cancer Battler Cup III on Thursday, May 10, at Larry Stewart Stadium at Blue Springs South High School. Hosted by the Blue Springs High School Soccer Alumni Association, the Cancer Battler Cup III is a community event that will benefit the Jennifer Ireland Foundation. Ireland played and managed soccer at Blue Springs before succumbing to colon cancer in 2007 at age 27.

The match will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for students with players from local soccer clubs gaining free admittance with a jersey on. Soccer skill contests will be held at halftime with an entry fee of a $1 or $2 donation to The Foundation. Event T-shirts are available for $10 each. A silent auction will run throughout the night and Kamara will sign autographs until 7:30 p.m.
