Have you ever talked to a professed atheist? I have found they are not atheists at all. They are simply angry at God.

Have you ever talked to a professed atheist? I have found they are not atheists at all. They are simply angry at God.

I have a relative who I love dearly, but she claims atheism. Yet, she gets angry when I tell her I will pray for her when I know she is hurting at the loss of her mother. Why would she get angry if there is no God? The truth is, she is angry at Him and not on speaking terms. Therefore, how dare I talk to Him about her!

I also found that atheists want to believe everyone who professes God is stupid. When they have conversations and find this is not the case, it is very bothersome. So, they begin to attack the person in some way. My relative found it comforting to believe I was an “extremist.” If she is able to label me with this term, one equal to “crazy” or “mentally unstable,” she could disregard all my thoughts, beliefs and ideas.

Her definition of “extremist” was: A person who wants their religious views to be law. Therefore, according to her, all voters are extremists. She doesn’t realize she is including herself in this definition, for she wants her views to be law too. She wants all the atheist and liberal left ideas to be law and the conservative and religious right not to be. But, of course, she will not acknowledge this.

The dictionary definition: One who advocates or resorts to measures beyond the norm, especially in politics.

When faced with the dictionary definition of the word and asked to clarify what measures I advocate that are beyond the norm, she names some conservative beliefs. Such as being pro-life, the belief that global warming is not manmade, Christian ideas, etc. She also states that her definition is her opinion and she has a right to it. Yes, we all do have a right to our opinion and of course we can make up our own definitions for any words we want.

So, I decided to make up my own. I simply defined conservative as: Someone who is a thinking person. This is my definition, and after all, I have a right to my opinion, yes?

Therefore, she will have to choose if she is a conservative or not.
