Russell K. Clark, 85, of Independence, Mo., passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

Russell K. Clark, 85, of Independence, Mo., passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

Russell was born June 25, 1924, to Everett and Lucille Clark. 

On January 17, 1947, he married Thelma Allen.  They were married 56 years until she passed away in 2003. 

He is also preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Katherine Jackson and Norma Stangel. 

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Zucca and Carol Clark; one brother, Bob Clark; five granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Russell served two years in the United States Navy during WWII.  He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 101 for over forty years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. 

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Catholic Charities Hospice for the excellent care provided in his last weeks of life. 

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, Mo. 

Services at 11 a.m. on Thursday, at the chapel.  Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
