Flags in Missouri will be flown at half-staff Saturday to honor a soldier killed in Afghanistan.

The order by Gov. Jay Nixon applies to all government offices statewide, from sunrise to sunset.

Army Specialist James R. Burnett Jr. died Nov. 16 in Kandahar Province. Burnett, 21, of Wichita, Kan., and Army Pfc. Matthew C. Colin, 22, of Navarre, Fla., were killed by a bomb. Both were in the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Fort Wainwright in Alaska.

Burnett’s father and stepmother live in Brownwood, Mo., and flags in nearby Wayne County will be flown at half-staff through Dec. 2.
