Hundreds attended an open house highlighting the missionary work of the Independence Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints under the direction of Bishop Paul Nelson on Friday, Nov. 18.

Every member and non-member in the Ward area were extended a special invitation to come and participate in an exceptional evening beginning with outstanding music by the Mormon Chorale directed by Alice Beebe.

Following a program in the Chapel, those attending were invited into the Cultural Hall where displays describing the purpose of all auxiliaries of the Church – such as primary, relief society, priesthood, young men and young women, emergency preparedness, the missionary program, family history, Temple work and others – were presented by leaders of the organizations, who were ready to answer any questions.

An artistically decorated cake portraying the Savior feeding His lambs complimented the theme of the evening as attendees culminated their informative evening with refreshments prepared by members of Second Ward.

It was a rewarding evening for all.
