For 75 minutes, the Blue Springs South girls soccer team kept it close with Lee’s Summit.
But Ashley Gann put away a goal in the 75th minute off the corner kick to give the visiting Tigers a 1-0 win over host South Wednesday in a Suburban Big Seven contest.
The game was delayed, then the varsity played before the junior varsity to get the game in and avoid the weather.
“It was heartbreaking,” South coach Todd Findley said. “I was impressed with our work rate. Our girls battled like warriors.”
The loss dropped the Jaguars to 3-11-1, 2-6 in the Big Seven.
