Plenty of Falcons got in on the scoring action Thursday as the Van Horn boys soccer team cruised to a 10-0 Crossroads Conference victory over visiting Imagine Renaissance Academy.

Irvin Lozoya nailed three goals in the first half to help the Falcons (4-8-1)  race to a 7-0 lead after the first 40 minutes and then added the final score in the 69th minute. In all, five Van Horn players netted goals. Lucas Dunlap and Kevin Alessio tallied a pair of scores and Alessio also recorded three assists.

“It gave our youngsters a chance to get in there and feel successful,” Van Horn coach Chris Corrie said.

WILLIAM CHRISMAN 1, WINNETONKA 0: Matt Sleissner’s unassisted goal in the 40th minute stood up for the Suburban Middle Seven victory for the host Bears (4-10, 2-4).

Keeper Devon Warner made six saves for the shutout.

“It was good to get another conference win,” Chrisman coach John Straub said.

FORT OSAGE 3, GRANDVIEW 0: A stubborn Grandview team battled hard before falling to host Fort Osage.

Three second-half goals by sophomore Richmond Forbis gave the Indians their 12th victory in 14 games. Clement Van Werth had two assists.

“It was a good game,” Fort Osage coach Andrew Fletcher said. “We dominated the game, but struggled scoring. Forbis was terrific.”

The junior varsity game resulted in a 5-0 Fort Osage victory.
