Ashley Bundren helped Grain Valley make history in multiple ways Thursday.

The sophomore – who missed the team’s program debut Tuesday, scored the first goal in Grain Valley history, notched the first hat trick in Grain Valley history and helped the team record its first win in history, 4-0 at home over Lincoln Prep.

“I was really happy with the girls,” Eagles coach Aleana Cavaluzzi said. “They had a lot fo shots on goal. Our keeper (Kelsi Douglass) had a rough game Tuesday, so she was happy with the confidence-building shutout today.”

Bundren finished with all four goals for the Eagles (1-1).

SMITHVILLE 5, FORT OSAGE 0: The Indians fell behind early and could not muster enough offense Thursday.

The Indians (1-2) gave up three goals in an eight minute span in the first half, and only mustered two shots on goal in the Tiger/Bronco/Titan Tournament at Lee’s Summit North.

“They scored three goals in eight minutes and we just didn’t recover,” Fort Osage coach Andrew Fletcher said. “They just outplayed us.”
