Grain Valley has wrapped an undefeated Missouri River Valley Conference  girls tennis season in convincing fashion.

The Eagles lost only two games in defeating Excelsior Springs 9-0 Tuesday.

Lanae Wilke, Haley Porter, Nathalia Barr, Jessica Dornes, Darby Schafenkamp and Mariah Hernandez posted the wins for Grain Valley (12-3, 6-0).

“Our conference tournament is Thursday and we want to get some individual medals and recognition,” Grain Valley coach Randy Draper said.

BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 8, LIBERTY 1: Host Blue Spring South dominated perennial power Liberty in the Suburban Big Six match.

“Our team quietly played their game,” South coach Crig Dierking. “They made this one of my proudest moments of my coaching career.

“There was so many great moments but we were down 1-8 in a tiebreaker in No. 1 doubles and came back to win 12-10.”

Morgan Clarke, Madison McCulloch, Leah Bell, Isabella Bowling, Erica McClain and Remy Davenport posted the seven South victories.

LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH 7, LEE’S SUMMIT 2: Lee’s Summit North has captured its first girls tennis conference title since 1995.

A 7-2 victory over visiting Lee’s Summit Tuesday improved the Broncos to 5-0 in the conference.

“I am so proud of the accomplishments of these girls this season and happy for them to reap the reward of all the hard work they have put in,” North coach Stuart Reece said.

Jenna Jefferson, Camryn Parnell, Christina Leeper, Anna Welsh and Kadi Severson posted title-clinching singles victories for North. Sestokaite and Welsh and Leeper and Moore prevailed in doubles.
