Independence police on Wednesday conducted a hazardous moving violation enforcement operation in that area, where the railroad says there’s a problem with drivers jumping out ahead of moving trains.

In two hours, police issued 37 summons for railroad crossing violations and 10 other traffic summons. They also made three arrests on outstanding warrants.
