New Verizon location
Verizon Wireless is moving its Blue Springs location. Starting today, it’s in a 3,200-square-foot site at 901 N.E. Coronado, leaving the former location at 704A N.W. Missouri 7.
Kimak earns national group designation
The National Pest Management Association has awarded Kimak Pest Management of Independence with its highest credentialing, Quality Pro. The program ranges from employee training to customer service. Kimak says it’s the only independently owned company in the metro area with this designation.
The company also notes that Mike Wilber, a Quality Pro service technician, now has been with the company for 10 years.
Commerce Bancshares has declared a quarterly dividend of 23 cents a share of common stock, payable June 27 to shareholders of record on June 10.
Earlier this month, the company declared earnings of 69 cents a share for the quarter ending March 31. That’s 38 percent better than the 50-cent-a-share profit posted in the first quarter of 2010. The company said it’s focused on cutting costs and has been able to set aside less money to account for bad loans.
Bed Bath earnings
Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. has reported higher quarterly and annual earnings.
The company, based in Union, N.J.. has a location at 18910 E. 39th St. in Independence. Its most recent quarter and fiscal year ended Feb. 26. For the year, it reported earnings of $791.3 million, or $3.07 per share, a 33 percent increase over the previous year. For the quarter, earnings were $1.12 a share, up from 86 cents a share in the same quarter a year earlier. Annual sales at comparable stores were up 7.8 percent, compared with a 4.4 percent gain the year before.
