Twelve-year-old David Taylor of Polly’s Pop rewrote the record books in the Eastern Jackson County league’s midget division. He slapped out four home runs, a triple, a single and drove in 11 runs as Polly’s defeated Thacker Go-Gas 33-11. The four homer, six hits and 11 RBI’s are believed to be one-game highs for the league.

A new post office facility for Independence has been authorized, according to Rep. William J. Randall, home for a visit. “Formerly, the government built and owned its postal buildings,” the Congressman said. “Now all postal facilities, even those costing in the millions, are constructed under a leasing program.” Randall said his office is attempting to work out problems that surround use of the property at Lexington and Osage.
