Staley scored two goals in each half for a 4-0 semifinals victory over the Eagles Thursday.

“The Eagles played very well despite what the scoreboard says,” Grain Valley coach Aleana Balistreri said. “We had some great opportunities but just couldn’t connect with the net. Staley is a good team and we stayed with them for awhile  but just couldn’t make the goals happen.”

Staley keeper Janay Stone made 14 saves for the shutout.

Lauren Sullivan’s two goals powered Staley.

Grain Valley (10-5) plays in the third-place match at 4:30 p.m. today.
