Officers say 15-year-old was driving a stolen SUV.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers shot an Independence teenager after a high-speed chase on Interstate 35 near Perry.
Highway Patrol Capt. Chris West says the 15-year-old boy was taken Monday to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in good condition.
West says the boy was driving a stolen sport utility. Authorities believe he's a runaway.
West said the chase began when officers tried to stop the SUV for a traffic violation about 30 miles north of Perry. The driver sped away southbound and crossed into northbound lanes. A trooper spun out the SUV about 2 miles north of Perry.
The highway patrol says the driver pulled a gun and fired as troopers approached. The troopers were unhurt and returned fire.
