Harold A. Schlomann, 92, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at St. Mary’s Manor in Blue Springs, Mo., after a lengthy illness.

Harold A. Schlomann, 92, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at St. Mary’s Manor in Blue Springs, Mo., after a lengthy illness.

Harold was born on August 18, 1919, to Theodore and Mamie (Meinershagen) Schlomann and was the second of three children. Harold was in the Army serving as Military Police during World War II. He was stationed in Tennessee, where he met and married his wife, Mary Howe. Harold was preceded in death by his older brother, Palmer, younger sister, Laverne and a nephew.

Alan and is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary; their children, Harold Jr. (Gretchen) of Clinton, Wash., Margaret (Chris Simms), John (Rosalind) of Grain Valley, Mo., Ann of Blue Springs, Mo., and Christine of Overland Park, Kan.; granddaughters, Sarah Christine Schlomann of Grain Valley, Mo., Sara Enouchs (Weston) of Columbia, Mo., and Hannah Claire Schlomann of Clinton, Wash., who is currently attending The Principia Upper School in St. Louis, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Max Schloman (Maxine) of Higginsville, Mo., Janet Erdman (Darold) of Alma, Mo., Barbara Schloman of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Frank Vernon (June) of Cupertino, Calif., and Kathleen Eller (George) of Independence, Mo.

Graveside service with full Military Honors in Higginsville Veteran Cemetery will be held March 30 at 11 a.m. Lunch following at the Salem United Church of Christ in Higginsville, Mo.
