BELTON 3, GRAIN VALLEY 1: Grain Valley had to settle for fourth place in the Raytown South tournament.

Ashley Bundren scored the only goal for Grain Valley (10-6) in the 15th minute.

“The first and second halves were completely different,” Grain Valley coach Aleana Balistreri said. “We played so well in the first half, but played flat the second half and gave up the lead. Fourth place overall is good for our first time in this tournament.”

KANSAS CITY LUTHERAN 9, VAN HORN 0: Van Horn coach Chris Corrie questioned his team’s heart and brains after a shutout road loss at Kansas City Lutheran.

“I think we took a step back after the way we played against Chrisman (a 5-0 loss Tuesday),” Corrie said. “I couldn’t tell if we were the Tin Man or the Scarecrow today.”

Sierra Grimm scored four goals and Sarah Bennett had two to lead Lutheran. Lauren Hick, Kate Smith and Alex Umbach also scored as Lutheran held Van Horn (1-10) to no shots on goal.
