The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams came through for William Chrisman.

The doubles teams of Ivan Ayala and Eric Neely and Drake Tosspon and Danny Mallinson rallied the Bears to a 5-4 Suburban Middle Seven victory over Fort Osage at Santa Fe Trail Park Friday.

“It was a good team effort,” Chrisman tennis coach Nathan Mooney said. “Our high and low seeds got wins today,” That’s what we needed to beat Fort Osage.”

Anthony Laughlin, Eric Neely and Shane Wilson were Chrisman singles winners.

Jake  Ford, Trevor Bennett and Austin Chapman were singles winners for Fort Osage. Brandon Reeve and Ford posted the doubles victory.

Fort Osage was a 7-2 junior varsity winner.

WINNETONKA TOURNAMENT: Dillon Perdue and Derek Bowlin won the A flight doubles with a 3-0 record and Michael Draper was second in A flight singles at 2-1 as Grain Valley placed second in the Winnetonka Tournament.

Excelsior Springs took first in the tournament.

“It was another second place for us,” Grain Valley coach Randy Draper said. “I was proud of Dillon and Derek, and Michael had a great finals. All of his three losses have been to Eric Dailey of Excelsior. I thought we had a really good day.”
