George Adam Basgall, 81, of Independence, Missouri, passed away April 20, 2011, at the Centerpoint Hospital.

George Adam Basgall, 81, of Independence, Missouri, passed away April 20, 2011, at the Centerpoint Hospital.

George was born in Chicago on June 26, 1929, to Joseph and Elizabeth Basgall. The family was of Russian and German descent and first settled in Wichita, Kansas. George was the youngest of ten children. He was raised in Chicago and was a butcher and specialty meat cutter by trade.  He was later married to Vivian DeMaree of Wichita, Kansas, who George said was the love of his life. They were married for 25 years, prior to Vivian’s death. They shared the love of the Restored Gospel together and were stalwart workers in the Restoration Church, here in the Center Place, and also in California.

He is survived by two children; daughter, Julianna Merlos of Wheeling, IL, and son, Mark Basgall-Moeller, of Schaumburg, IL; two grand-daughters, Natalie Merlos of Wheeling, IL, and Daniella Merlos, of Wauconda, IL; one grand-son, Mario Merlos of Wauconda, IL.  Other survivors include; a niece, Rosemary Peterson, of Genoa City, WI; a cousin, Patsy Smith, of Topeka, KS; a sister-in-law, Dody Lipp, of Wichita, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service will be held Sunday afternoon, May 1, 2011, at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ, Farview Restoration Branch, 24th and Vermont, Independence, MO.
