Examiner High School Boys Athlete of the Week for Oct. 20-25

SPORT: Football
CLASS: Junior
SCHOOL: Blue Springs
HIGHLIGHTS: The junior wide receiver/running back/defensive back took control of last Friday’s key district game against Liberty on both sides of the ball. He caught six passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns (for 72, 37 and 50 yards) and ran for an 8-yard touchdown. On defense, he intercepted Liberty twice near the end zone in the fourth quarter to preserve the 48-38 win.
COMMENT: “We challenged Keeston at halftime,” Wildcats coach Kelly Donohoe said. “He had a good first half. But with (Liberty’s Marcus) Lucas, it was a big grudge match. We told him, ‘We want you to outplay him tonight.’ And he played exceptional.”
