The Mid-Continent Public Library System is a terrific public asset for Eastern Jackson County and beyond.
Not only can you find good resources at branches in Independence, Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Oak Grove and Buckner, but you can quickly and easily get books and other resources from any of the system’s 29 branches that stretch from Weston to Excelsior Springs to Grandview. The library also recently opened an amazing new facility, the Midwest Genealogy Center in Independence.
The largest branch is the North Independence branch at U.S. 24 and Spring Street in Independence. Now the community has a chance to upgrade that facility and the services offered there.
A design team has outlined some ideas for investments over the next couple of years, but the library wants public comments as well. This is a chance to make a very good facility even better. Make your voice heard.
