Dan Noud and Chad Stohlman prevailed in No. 3 doubles, giving the host Wildcats a 5-4 victory over Kearney Thursday

“It’s a W in the win column,” said Blue Springs coach Jody McClain. “We might have been a little bit nervous. Four players got their first varsity win.”

Blue Springs singles winners were Daniel Meany, Tyler Casey, Noud and Stohlman..

Kearney tied the score 4-4 with victories in the first two doubles matches.

Blue Springs was a 9-0 junior varsity winner.

GRAIN VALLEY 9, LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH 0: Host Grain Valley improved to 2-0 with an impressive victory over Lee’s Summit North.

“It was a good day,” Grain Valley coach Randy Draper sad. “I was pleased with the kids. Some got their first wins. We hit the ball pretty well today. It was the first time we played North.:

Michael Draper, Derek Bowlin, Dillon Perdue, Chase Gabriel, Lane Elliott and Theo Nichols posted the Grain Valley singles and doubles victories.

North took the junior varsity match 9-1

WILLIAM CHRISMAN 8, RUSKIN 1: Five singles victories paced William Chrisman past Ruskin at Santa Fe Trail Park.

Cody Page, Derek Neely, Ivan Ayala, Shane Wilson and Danny Mallinson were singles winners. Teaming up for doubles wins were Page and Neely, Richardson and Ayala and Wilson and Mallinson.

“It was good day to get a win under our belts,” coach Nathan Mooney said as the Bears improved to 2-1.

Chrisman was a 4-0 junior varsity winner.
