Joseph M. Hoffman, 56 of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away December 25, 2012.  

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at St. John LaLande Catholic Church Blue Springs, Mo. Interment in Missouri Veterans Cemetery Higginsville, Mo. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Meyers Funeral Chapel, Blue Springs, Mo., with a rosary to be said at 4:45 p.m.

Joseph was born May 6, 1956, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Richard R. and Catherine (Michaelree) Hoffman. On May 27, 1981, he married Kim (Willoughby) Hoffman who survives of the home. He was a data network security consultant with IBM. He was a member of St. John LaLande Catholic Church, a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, the Secular Franciscan of the third order, a Pro Life advocate, and past Boy Scout Leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Rev. Patrick Hoffman. Other survivors include a daughter Stephanie Hoffman of Kansas City, Kan., son Joseph R.W. Hoffman and wife Brea of Blue Springs, Mo., grandchildren Alyrika, and Mateo Hoffman of Blue Springs, Mo., brothers Richard Hoffman of St. Louis, Mo., Thomas Hoffman of San Antonio, TX, sisters Mary Ann Hoffman of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Mary Francis Hoffman of St. Charles, Mo.
