D’Vante Mosby posted 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals to power Fort Osage to a third-place 47-40 Nelson Division victory Saturday.
Fort Osage (7-3) outscored the Roosters 19-11 in the fourth quarter to rally for the victory.

“It’s the third time we had ever won anything in the tournament and the first time we had won two games.” Fort Osage coach Josh Wilson said.

“We started off sluggish after the late game Friday night game (70-62 loss to Lee’s Summit West).”

The Indians trailed 13-9 after one quarter and 29-28 after three quarters. The teams were tied 18-18 at halftime.

Freshman Skylar Thompson and Will Penamon each added 10 points for Fort Osage, which had prevailed in only five of 18 previous tournament games.

BLUE SPRINGS 62, SMITHVILLE 52: The Wildcats clinched third place in the Cardinal Division as Justin Pruitt scored 20 points and Elijah Lee added 17 points and nine rebounds.

Derek Howe poured in 24 points and Brock Pick 21 in carrying the brunt of the Smithville attack.

“I was very pleased with the win,” first-year Blue Springs coach Adam Jones said. “We had a solid effort defensively and consistently worked hard.”

Blue Springs led 33-25 at halftime. Smithville stayed closed by hitting 20 of 27 free throws.

TRUMAN 53, ST. PIUS X 50: Truman posted a 35-32 lead after three quarters and then held on to defeat St. Pius X and claim third pace in the Patterson Division.

Dewayne Thornton had 14 points, Lane Titus added 13 and Scott Agee had 10 as Truman improved to 7-4 and dropped the Warriors to 7-3.

Truman prevailed despite hitting only 22 of 36 free throws.
