To the editor:

Many college faculties are opposed to the bill on conceal and carry for campuses. This has been clearly stated by President Aaron Podolefsky of the University of Central Missouri, “A college freshman is only one summer away from being a high school senior. And to suddenly say a college freshman can carry (a gun), well, what’s the next logical thing?” Apparently President Podolefsky does not believe his students of the ages 18 to 22 years old to be mentally sound or capable of learning gun safety. With this, he deems these students to be inherently violent also.

Since these students can be accepted into the military to fight wars with guns such as the M-16 assault rifle or the M-9 handgun, I believe these students need the freedom to carry defensive tools. I know humans are capable of learning and are inherently good natured though those can be changed by choices.
