Why join a chamber or business group?

Now that you have been invited, why would you want to join a business organization? What are the benefits or to the point, what’s in it for you? I see the main reason for joining a Chamber or any business group is the opportunity to interact with like-minded people. You can find valuable resources of information and support for your business and hopefully increase the size of your company. This tip is also for nonprofit organizations, education, and faith organizations. Don’t you want to increase membership? And education is an important part of business, as this is where future workers are found.

And hand-in-hand with networking is the opportunity for you to showcase your business through the many events held by the chamber, such as the Business Expo in March or the Mini-Expo coming up on Wednesday, Oct. 27. Also being an Ambassador will help your business grow as you will be part of an energetic group that acts as hosts at many functions, invites others to join the chamber, and is involved in community events. New this year, is the young professional group, F.U.E.L., The Future Unrivaled Emerging Leaders, which provides the opportunity to increase community involvement, social interaction, and business development skills. There is much more information about the chamber on its Web site

By joining the chamber, your customers will instantly recognize credibility. If a new customer comes to your place of business, they will immediately feel more confident about your company when they see your chamber plaque on display. Other reasons to join a business organization is for marketing and sales tips, access to professionals in your field, job opportunities, and references.
