What advice do you have for next year’s freshmen?

Have a goal and remember this goal. Knowing what you are working toward makes all the difference. Find “academic benefactors,” people who can give you the inside scoop on which courses to take, standardized testing information and eventually college admissions.

Who was your favorite teacher and why?

Ms. Lindsay Thompson, my AP Language and Composition teacher. She helped me to become an effective writer and is understanding and super funny. I applied the skills I learned in her course when writing my college admissions and scholarship essays.

When you were not in school or studying, what did you most enjoy doing?

I loved running track and field. I was bummed when I had to leave elementary school and recess but track gave me another opportunity to run and jump and compete.

What college do you plan to attend and why?

Harvard University. I’ve always dreamed of attending Harvard because of its legacy, amazing academics, diverse and talented student body, and its location in Boston, one of the coolest cities ever.

What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?

In 10 years, hopefully I will be starting a career as a surgeon or another kind of doctor.
