To the editor:
Recently, I received a call from The Salvation Army. She thanked me for the contributions I have made recently. Then she began to tell that more people are coming to them for help with food. Plus, in the summer months, the demand is even greater, possibly because school is out and they have to feed their children lunch and snacks.
The woman came very close to begging me for an additional gift. I explained that I have a lot of medical bills right now, etc., but she was very insistent that I help them. Because of this, I am letting you know about the Salvation Army’s “cry for help!” I’m asking you to do what you can to help this growing need by making the public aware of this crisis.
