The front-page article about the Levasy post office (Saturday, “Small-town Levasy fighting closure of its post office”) is oh so very true. The town of Levasy is neat. It has a hardware store that virtually has any item you could need. It is like the Levasy grain elevator as it provides a full line of services to our community.

The Levasy post office serves as a community center. All in town need this local service. During this year’s flood the post office served our town well. Any activity in regard to flood control was posted for all to read. Postmaster Corrine and Mayor Phyllis did an excellent job of alerting the townspeople of all related news.

All in all, the Levasy post office needs to be retained if at all possible.
