“Times are worsening and will do so before getting better,” so the saying goes.

To the editor:

“Times are worsening and will do so before getting better,” so the saying goes.

In the last 50 years, there have been floods, wars, earthquakes, tornadoes and many other happenings causing much alarm. Before this 50 years, there were also wars, very devastating, because supplies needed weren’t available. Wars are caused by greed, hatred, jealousy, corruption and many other factors not known. All of these devastations have a bearing on humanity, from young to elderly. Ruined lives happen from these disasters, and are carried through life. Why is this world situation increasingly in turmoil?

The Bible, in n Matthew 24: 6-8 and 13, says, “And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows” and then “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

Knowing of God’s truths, the why of the devastations in the world, we need to pray for peace, the problem solver.
