Thomas Allen Brooks, 33 of Independence, MO passed away Friday, December 26, 2008 at his home.
Tom was born May 9, 1975 in Las Vegas, NV. Tom is survived by his wife April Brooks of the home. One son Chance Luttrell of the home; two daughters Macalyn Brooks of Belton, MO and Riley Brooks of the home. Tom was the son of Judy and Steve Crull of Belton, MO and Augustus Brooks of St. Joseph, MO. Grandparents Joedd and Shirlie Biggs of Platte City, MO; three brothers Chris Brooks of Garnett, KS, Terry Brooks of Jacksonville, FL, and Scott Brooks of St. Joseph, MO.
Tom was employed by Riverside Transport. Tom’s passion was being on the open road driving his semi truck and being with his family. Tom was a very giving and loving father, friend, husband, son and brother. Tom leaves many loved ones and will be missed horribly. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Tom is a better person for having done so.
Here are a few words Tom lived his life by; Lord please help me be safe as I travel each mile, let your presence guide me, and bring me a smile, take care of my family while I am away, let them know I miss them each and everyday, and that I’m out here doing this for them, steer me clear of danger as I cross the country alone I put my hands in yours Lord, keep me safe and my family safe and get me home. Tom may be gone but he will never be forgotten.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at the United Methodist Church of Platte City, MO. The family suggests contributions be given to Tom’s children.
